I'm sharing my own personal rides: meaning the maintenance and upgrades on my boards are top notch.   
Scratches happen: no worries. However, abuse, use in the wet, and gravel/trails cannot.  This does unfortunately also preclude beach/sand use.

Speaking of abuse: protect your brain and wear a helmet! Don't have one? I can wash out a sweaty loaner.
