Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter

This was my first super steel knife in 30V  It’s never been used and retains its original factory edge and comes with a slightly used fire steel in a custom kydex sheath.  It is actually Benchmade’s very first survival fixed blade design and is known to hold its edge for a very long time making sharpening in the field a rare chore.  The 162 is definitely handy if you are being deployed in humid environments and plan on using a “do-it-all” style stainless steel knife without worrying about rust or constant sharpening after each use like some other blades.  It can handle most jobs well including batoning but due to 30V being stainless and extremely hard it can develop micro-chips in the blade if severely used so if you do choose to do that to this knife that retails at around 275 to 350 range I’d opt to carve a wedge out of wood with it to pound through logs instead as this may void the warranty.  With its extremely thick tang it’d be hard to break so not much worry there.  it’s pretty bombproof which is how I like all my blades.  The Bushcrafter is a beautiful knife with a mirror polish finish expertly crafted and designed and not one of those knives you ever want to lose on your adventures.  The custom sheath is a bit tricky to wear and the retention on the blade is mediocre in my opinion so I’d recommend carrying it in a clean closed pouch or small carry pouch to avoid it dislodging or dropping during your trek.  I can’t stress that enough with the value of this blade as it’s as much a show piece for serious knife collectors as it is brutally functional and like all Benchmades it’s definitely a premium knife. It has a scaled Micarta handle and a high saber grind for chopping through material and has never been used.
